Nutella in Bangaldesh. Have Fun!
A very special Nutella Commercial. Self made by Bholas Children;-):
During our stay in Bhola Bruna brought a big Nutella Container (because she is Italian!) and we enjoyed it every morning on a Chapati together with our home grown bananas.
And also Ali, our Director in Bhola loved it as you can see;-)!
Back from Bangaldesh!
Hello!
We are back from Bangladesh after a long trip and Jelena produced the first movies. I want to share the films today and will come back with more pictures also from our last days in Bhola soon.
The Welcome Ceremony at Rishilpi in Satkhira:
Our roadtrip from Satkhira to Bhola:
Another lovely Day at Valumia
At Valumia children were running around playing and even Bruna did her first cricket game!
After picnic one of the deaf and dumb girls (Rabia) wished to go to the riverside instead of the direct way back home. It was a great idea as we had another funny time playing "catch the ribbon" on a piece of land at the shore of the river many people surrounding us.
Good night from Bhola!

First pictures from Bhola
The pictures show our last days in Rishilpi playing Badminton with boys in their wheelchair, a trip to the Indian border together with the Italians and to the mosque and our journey by car from Satkhira to Bhola within about 9 hours.
And there are some first Bhola pictures showing our picnic together with all the children to Valumia, our land (about 10 km away from the boundary).
More pictures I will try to post this evening...
Greetings to All from Bhola!

Amazing Times in Rishilpi
Our first week nearly has passed by and we got many amazing impressions from our friends in Rishilpi.
Unfortunately my computer crashed by my own fault so I now use Jelenas for the Blog posts. Like always staying in this country we are drinking a glass of Single Malt every evening for our stomach. So one glass suddenly flue into my laptops keyboard. GRRRRRR!
Well, we joined 4 full days together with the Italian visitors. We were shown arround Rishilpi, Satkhira and villages. We saw schools in the villages run by Rishilpi, all the establishments in the Rishilpi boundary (Kindergarden, schools up to class 10, workshops for Leather and Tailoring, a hospital and different therapies, cantine and bakery) and a special project for girls.
In Bangladesh by law people are only allowed to be married by 21 years (men) and 18 years (girls). But normally girls get married arranged much earlier. So Rishilpi developped a special project to protect them from to early marriages. One thing is that they meet each month to teach them and each of the girls will have to spend 10 Takka per month that go to a cashbook. Rishilpi tops that by another 100 Takka. When they reach 18 without being married Rishilpi will pay the money back as their personal savings. But if they get married before or quit the project they only will get back their own 10 Takkas per month. We joined the monthly meeting and also had to sign for our participation (see pictures). One special expierence for Jelena and me was to play badminton with boys in a wheelchair. As Badminton beside Cricket is the national sport in Bangladesh they really played very good!
Please join more impressions of our Rishilpi-Time here:
We are now on the way by car to Bhola Enzo and Monica joining us.
THANK YOU LAURA AND ENZO FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP AND FOR YOUR OVER 30 YEARS OF GREAT WORK FOR THE POOREST.

Rotary Club Vaduz spendet CHF 10.000,- / Rotary Vaduz donate 10.000 CHF
Last week we have been invited to the Rotary Club Vaduz who supports our Bholas Children Foundation with CHF 10.000,-. We would like to thank Rotary Vaduz for that great donation that will help to renovate our two central buildings which have been built by Swedish Mission in the 70ties. We will connect the two old buildings to create more space for new meeting rooms, office, an infirmary and guest rooms.
Mohoram's Wheels - Around the world
A friend of us, Mohoram from Dhaka who me met during our last stay in Bhola is just preparing his trip with his wheelchair to different countries. He will also cross Europe and we are looking to see him in Germany or the UK! Please see here an article published in The Independent:
We wish Mohoram all the best and a save trip!
